Business Unit: Company 3 Position: Re-recording Mix Assistant Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite) *Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00 CAD hourly
POSITION SUMMARY: Company 3 Toronto provides postproduction services to some of the world’s top content creators and is known for its creative artistry, pioneering technology and global reach. The award-winning Sound team provides a wide range of sound finishing services for Film and Television productions.
MAIN DUTIES: The Re-recording Mix Assistant assists with re-recording mix sessions from set-up of protools, surfaces and other hardware/software. They will ensure that all session files, surface data and audio files are backed up daily, and manage transfers, uploads, and downloads of Sound elements to and from various locations. They will create deliverables including conversions and conforms and assist in trouble shooting QC’ing elements. Additional duties include:
Set up and operation of screenings and presentations in theatres
Works closely with the technical department to develop and maintain preventative maintenance, including routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and Mix Theatre’s
Works closely with the Manager of Sound Operations and Project Producers and others on details needed for any project
Acts as a re-recording mixer on small independent projects in all theatres
Administrative duties such as documenting all work done, actualization of work orders in a timely fashion and ensuring accuracy
Interact with fellow staff and clients to the benefit of projects
Communicates questions and information electronically and verbally on a regular basis
Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING: The ideal candidate will be looking to be a sound postproduction professional and will have a background in Audio Engineering and/or Film Production. They must have experience in Protools Editing/Mixing software and Hardware, Dolby HT and Cinema ATMOS RMU’s. They must have experience working with large format DSP consoles and have a strong understanding of signal flow / patching, as well as a good understanding of frame rates and conversion formats. Additional desired skills include:
Must have high computer skills especially Mac OS
Must be willing and able to work in a team environment
Must have good communication skills and is able to interact with fellow staff, freelancers and Clients
Must have strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
Must be able to work unsupervised and meet deadlines in a timely manner
Must be willing to work overtime including occasional weekends
