The CG Generalist is responsible for completing a diverse array of 3D-related tasks, maintaining a high degree of adaptability and a wide breadth of CG skills.
MAIN DUTIES:
The CG Generalist will proficiently complete 3D-related tasks including hard surface modeling, look development, texturing, animation, rendering, shading, lighting, tracking, and effects. They will assist with developing look of a sequence. They will drive the creative and technical setup of assets. They will ensure look consistency, optimized render times, and ease of use of assets. Other duties include:
Manage publishing of asset and conducts follow-ups to ensure team usability.
QC lighting setups of other Houdini TDs to ensure best practices, optimized render times, and methodologies.
Work closely with compositors to ensure renders are efficient, consistent, and clean.
Pivot between roles and projects as needed.
Maintain aesthetic, creative, and technical quality standards of production.
WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will bring solid prior CG generalist experience at VFX studio. They will bring a proven ability across various CG disciplines. They will bring a strong understanding of CG pipeline. They will also bring the following:
Strong technical CG knowledge.
Strong background in character, mechanical, animation.
Proven ability to balance quality of work with time constraints.
Working knowledge of Maya, Houdini, Substance, Photoshop, Zbrush, Mari, Nuke, Shotgrid.
Asset lookdev and shot lighting is done within Houdini, and rendered with Mantra and Karma.
