POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the physical plant at two Company 3 NYC locations. The role involves regular maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and collaboration with vendors and third-party contractors. The technician will also be responsible for responding to emergencies and managing repairs as needed.
MAIN DUTIES: The Maintenance Technician will collaborate with the Facility Supervisor to handle maintenance and upkeep across both NYC locations. They will coordinate with vendors for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, locks, and other third-party contractors, and respond to emergencies (e.g., HVAC issues, leaks), assess problems on-site, and arrange for emergency services when necessary. They will perform regular assessments of the facility and attend to maintenance needs, prepare offices for client occupancy, including patching and painting walls, ensuring furniture and small appliances are in good working order and making adjustments as needed. They will also be responsible for the following:
Adjust HVAC vents and dampers for temperature control; monitor HVAC units daily and schedule service when required.
Move office furniture, rugs, file cabinets, and mini-fridges using dollies and hand trucks.
Assemble and install furniture (e.g., shelves, desks, consoles).
Mount and hang items such as sound baffles, corkboards, whiteboards, and pictures.
Prepare rooms and windows for cleaning by third-party vendors by moving furniture and removing window channels.
Replace lightbulbs and adjust light fixtures as necessary.
Work independently to prep spaces and clean up after completing tasks.
Provide regular facility progress reports to the Facility Supervisor and Operations Manager/Director of Operations.
Collaborate with the Facilities Cleaning team to ensure the facility is clean and well-maintained.
Cover for coworkers during PTO or sick days as needed.
Work flexible hours when required.
WHAT YOU BRING: The ideal candidate will have prior working experience in facility maintenance or a related field. They must have knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry, and be proficient in using common tools. Additional desired skills include:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer service-oriented approach.
Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
