POSITION SUMMARY:
The Food Expeditor is responsible for ensuring that orders are prepared correctly and delivered to customers in a timely manner.  They function as a liaison between the kitchen and service staff. They prioritize orders and assist in final dish preparation, ensuring accuracy and presentation. With excellent communication and organizational skills, they maintain fast service and handle customer concerns.  
 
This part-time position will require working in studio on a regular basis.  You may be required to travel and work out of our studios in Santa Monica and Hollywood.  You must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as needed, and be available to work variable shifts, including second shift and swing shift, as necessary per business needs. 

MAIN DUTIES:
The Food Expeditor ensures the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen, and ensures orders are being prepared with the correct priority. They will assist in the final preparation of dishes, check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature, and ensure orders are delivered quickly to maintain fast service. They will also be responsible for the following:
  • Inspect premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning 
  • Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request) 
  • Support other tasks as needed (e.g. telephone orders)
  • Back-up Client Services Representatives, as needed. 

WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working as a food expeditor or other restaurant position and have a strong understanding of health and safety rules in a restaurant. They must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to manage competing priorities. They will have demonstrated experience working collaboratively and communicating effectively with others. Additional desired skills include:
  • Strong process and attention to detail. 
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. 
  • Food handling certification may be required according to legal regulations 
  • Culinary education background is a plus. 
  • Great inter-personal skills, be meticulous, always organized and work calmly and professionally especially during high pressure situations.
