POSITION SUMMARY:
Company 3 / Method Inc currently has openings for a project hire an Animator to work on projects within our VFX department. This position will be located in Santa Monica.
The perfect candidate needs to be a dependable, team player with a great attitude, and be flexible with our fast turnarounds. They will work closely with the VFX Supervisor and VFX Producer in achieving the highest creative and technical standards of work.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Ideation and creation of animation ideas for VFX sups to choose from, which are then put forward to the finishing animators.
- High level of animation of mechanical objects & products in a fast-paced turn around environment.
- Work may also include previs and animation tests
- Animate using effective storytelling skills through knowledge of camera angles, camera animation and shot framing.
- Communicate effectively with the production team and other artists as required.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Previous experience working in Commercial and/or Feature Film animation.
- Extensive knowledge of camera animation, physics and mechanical & organic motions.
- High level proficiency with Maya (Familiarity with C4D is a plus).
- You have solid knowledge on key frame animation skills and basic rigging knowledge.
- You have a keen eye for aesthetic product framing/visualization.
- Ability to adapt to different styles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
